RULES

The Concept:
So, you thought you’re a footy guru but every year in the Footy Tipping competition you lose to some dropkick
who thinks Plugger is a sex toy? Now is your chance to showcase your talents.
You are the Koach.
You pick a squad in a pre-season draft.
You pick a team each week from your squad.
There are fixtures where you play 1 game against all other teams in the year. These are the home & away rounds.
-
The home team is responsible for putting in the scores to das Scoremaster.
-
The teams must be advised by each party to the other (or if unable to other members of the FCFC by bouncedown to the 1st game.
-
If a team is submitted late then the opposing Coach can elect to accept that team (players having already played in matches in the Round will score zero) OR elect to use the late teams' previous weeks team.
-
If a team is not submitted at all then his previous week’s team will play as a default.
-
In SPLIT ROUNDS: Selected FCFC Players must come from AFL Selected teams.
For Thursday night only (*or single 1st game equivalent) selection matches
-
Players for that match must be named before bouncedown
-
If not then no players from that match can play & be scored for that weeks' round
-
IF a team is subsequently not named at all before bouncedown game 2 then;
-
Previous week’s team plays BUT…
-
Any player from the Thursday match* does not score and is replaced from the bench
SCORING
The team, and their scoring, is as follows:
-
3 midfielders: 1 point per kick and 1 point per handball
-
2 forwards: Their actual score i.e. 3 goals 4 points if they actually (yes you guessed it) kicked 3.4
-
1 ruckman: 1 point per ruck hit out and 1 point per mark
-
1 marker: 3 points per mark
-
1 tackler: 5 points per tackle
-
1 soft arsed free-kicker: (ie. the dude who gets a lot of free kicks) - 1 goal per free
-
2 interchange: Replaces player/s that you selected but don’t play. They are to be named in order (ie; Int1, Int2).
-
1 Superstud: The All Rounder. Bunch of FCFC stats added up divided by 2.5
(Goals x 6+ Pts + Possies + Mks x 3 + Tackles x 5 + Frees For x 6 ) / 3
Decimals ignored (ie, Round down - eg; if after dividing = 27.95 score is 27)
If you have Freddy Phucknuckle nominated in a particular position, say as a forward, but he ends up he playing midfield during the AFL match and picks up 39 possessions and 1 goal 2 points – you score only 1 goal 2 points but if you had of nominated him as a midfielder you would have scored 39 points (or 6 goals 3 points).
It is the responsibility of the home team to email thru the scores to das Scoremaster AND to the Opposing Coach by 5pm the day after the last game of the round at the latest. If by that time the score is not submitted it is also the opponents obligation to submit the score by 5pm the following day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SELECTION & INTERCHANGE ROOLS
-
Players from first match of the Round only required before bouncedown of that game (assuming only 1 game on Day 1 of the round)
-
ALL remaining Players required by bouncedown of Friday Night's game
-
4 Interchange allowed BUT;
* Any Interchange Player named early (eg; on Wed or Thursday games) prior to final FCFC Teams submission MUST have a nominated INTERCHANGE position (INT1,2,3 or 4) - otherwise that player is automatically assumed to be INT4 (or if two or more; INT4, INT3 etc.. in order as named).
-
Can nominate a preferred position for any Player (one position only, not compulsory)
-
Preferred position takes precedent over normal Int. positioning
-
Normal Int. order takes over with any un-used players once all possible nominated Int.s used
Interchange Player Order (for unused or non-position named Interchange players):
-
Vacant Position
-
Superstud
-
Midfielder
-
Forward
-
Tackler
-
Marker
-
Ruckman
-
SFF
IF THERE IS ANY KONFUSION AHEAD OF SELECTION ASK Dk FOR CLARIFICATION ie; NO LOOKING FOR LOOPHOLES AFTER THE EVENT!!
A N D ; there is now a Kommandant Austauschen (Interchange Commander)
KOMMANDANT PLUGGER will oversee any perceived rorting!
And if you ever been on the park in tight shorts with him then you’ll know not to mess with The PLUGSTER (think Peter Caven)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ANY LATE SUBMITTED SCORES ARE TO INCUR A FINE……The stats are to be taken from the official AFL website www.afl.com.au.
If Home team is fined for no score submission, & Away team is available, they must submit score by 5pm the following day {ie; the day after the day it was meant to be due} to das Scoresmaster & Opposition Koach.
The Season
The top 12 go through to the finals.
Each win is awarded 4 points and the scores are maintained, percentage calculated and these scores are recorded for the season to make up the ladder. Draws are 2 points each.
Additionally, separate points are allocated on a 3, 2, 1 basis for our equivalent of the Brownlow Medal called “The KIRKY” (aaah the memories; Ed.).
These are to be awarded to the top 3 point scorers in the match and to be forwarded along with the results each week. For tied pts the player from the winning side gets preference, if two or more tied from his team then he chooses who gets the points.
The CRABOFF (sometime around the FCFC Finals)
One round a year, in addition to usual matches, will be a special round. Not compulsory however, there are rewards;
1st Place = $250 fcfc credit
2nd place = $100 fcfc credit
3rd place = $50 fcfc credit
Rools
-
Each Koach selects a normal Team (additional to their usual fixture team) from their squad
-
The aim is to get the LOWEST score
-
Players selected HAVE TO PLAY. If a selected player does not turn up then usual reserve takes their place however if still no score due to not playing then a score 35 is credited.
The Finals
Top 12 play over Rounds 20-23 (subject to change if the AFL stuffs us around!).
Round 20: 4 x ELIMINATION FINALS - Teams 1st - 4th have a rest. 5 v 12, 6 v 11, 7 v 10, 8 v 9 4 winners go thru
Round 21: 4 x SEMI-FINAL games - 1st v lowest placed EF winner, 2nd v 2nd lowest place EF winner, etc... 4 winners go thru
Round 22: 2 x PRELIMINARY FINALS - season highest placed plays seasons lowest placed...
Round 23: GRAND FINAL - Two winners from Prelims
Any Draws will result in the team higher placed during the Home & Away season going through.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
The Premiership
The two grand finalists each win a trip to the AFL Grand Final fully inclusive of airfares and accommodation. The Winner will also receive $500. If either cannot attend (with due reason!) Premier can take a further $1000 in lieu of trip, Runner Up can take $800 in lieu. If available $2,000 will be equally distributed to any other FCFC koaches who wish to attend the AFL Grand Final to offset their costs.
PLAYERS: KEEPERS, AUCTION & DRAFT NIGHT
-
Two players are to be kept from your previous seasons squad.
-
Additionally, a Rookie can be retained from your squad (optional). Rookie to have played 12 games or less in their AFL career.
-
There will be a draft of all registered AFL players to the clubs. Draft Order is tabled under FIXTURES.
-
All Teams finishing from 1 to 16 MUST retain two players from their previous seasons squad whilst teams finishing in the bottom 4 can elect to keep one or two.
-
If only one retained then they qualify to have Priority pick in the draft.
Prior to the Draft their will be a PLAYER AUCTION of the Top 60 players based upon Stud Stats (nb; STUD scores to include HitOuts so that some Rucks get into the Auction. dK discretion to omit long term injured players, 12 game min'm played in previous season, auction order to change every year alternating: surname/1st name—1st name/surname—surname (rev.order)/1st name—1st name(rev.order)/surname…).
Maxm 2 players can be bought per Koach, Maxm price $100, where two or more Koaches offer the maxm $100 then player goes to lower ranked Koach, as soon as a Koach buys a player the Koach moves to last on the preference list.
Following the Auction the Bottom 4 have their priority pick (assuming they have elected to do so) and then we go into normal drafting.
Teams can trade players following the draft. Trading open from Draft to 5pm Wednesday after Round 4.
Once traded out a Koach cannot trade that player back in at all during the year.
No Limit on number of Traded players
COSTS
Costs for the season is based upon finishing position from previous season (+ Fines along the way; you are not immune!), “Punish the Weak”, as tabled in the $5 structure to the right:
das Kommittee (All Hail the Kommittee) shall always have both the discretion and indiscretion in all matters pertaining to all things and shall be treated with the utmost respect, dignity and bribery at all times

ROOLINGS
The SuperfknuckleFats Rule
You stuffed up by naming the same player more than once - the opponent gets to choose which of the two positions is to be played - however, any player named in the playing ten gets precedence (ie; if a player is named in the playing ten AND on the bench, the playing position remains as named, in this case the Int. player does not play as a Sub as well) - with the first I/C player taking over the other spot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Milo’s Mangle: The naming of a player that is not in your squad automatically gets zero points for the round in that particular position plus a fine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Player named, BUT not the position, or position named but after their match has commenced:
Opponent can either;
1) accept the later named position, or,
2) elect to have the player NOT play, in which case that position is replaced by the interchange.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TARTAN FIASCO: When it is clear that an incorrect position is assigned to a player the Opponent gets to choose which confused players play in the confused positions. eg.; TARTS named 4 Midfielders but no Marker; Opponent gets to choose which three play in the Midfield and which plays as Marker. PLUS a $5 FINE to the Confusing Coach
Das KOMMITTEE (allhailthekommittee) shall always have an overriding say in how this rule gets applied (especially cos it’s bloody hard to describe!).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DRAFT NIGHT (Resolution PASSED)
Only ONE (1) Coach permitted per club at draft night.
Members of the general public, including assistants who cannot assist, can attend the FCFC’s Night of Nights by paying the requisite entry fee. Assistants are NOT to be seated next to or assist whilst the draft is ongoing - can discuss at breaks.

“BANGERGATE”
Bangers v Damage (May 2011)
Verdict: Bangers Lose
-
Didn’t ask the obvious “anybody seen Damage’s team?” (sure, not a requirement but an expected procedure & shows more than some interest in the might that is The FCFC)
-
Didn’t query the result when it was submitted (as above)
-
Took weeks after the event to wake up & complain (as above)
More chance of complaint being upheld if received in a suitable timeframe (ie; before the start of the next round)
The actions, or more correctly the inactions, of The Bangers, all indicate a “Recalcitrant attitude” (except to whinging) and das Kommittee (allhailthekommittee) finds great difficulty in crediting such an attitude.
Bangers only action, that is to be commended and nearly won them the case, was their brazen attempt at bribery; all members are to take note of this. Similarly, The Damage’s blatant attempt at email fraud, whilst amateurish, shows some commendable traits.
Fines:
· The Bangers have done nothing but zealously overwhinge & accordingly are to be fined $5 under Ruling #6 for “Overzealous Whinging”.
· The Collateral Damage almost did the right thing, but didn’t. As they cocked up, created this mess and didn’t submit their team properly will be fined $20 under Rule #15 (x4).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BEASTGATE:
KOUTAS named “The BEAST” as his SFF—NIX complained that he didn't who he was and wanted to score him zero
dK has rooled in favour of The KOUTAS in BEASTGATE.
-
Most damning is that The NIX knew that The BEAST was named by The Koutas pre-match and did not query, by any reasonable measure, the player (merely adding a ‘?’ after his name in the template is hardly a determined effort to clarify)
-
The BEAST was listed as a Brissy player – the Koutas only have one in their squad, a simple check would have pretty much narrowed things down
-
Koutas Ass Koach has given extensive evidence of who The Beast was/is & probably always will be - most of us know.
Cleary the Nix didn’t make any meaningful effort to clarify.
This is NOT A ROOLING TO ALLOW WEIRD NAMES OF PLAYERS GOING FORWARD - the onus is on the submitting koach to be clear.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ONLY PART TEAM NAMED (nice one Bagger!) - When not a full team has been listed in time:
Players named are played in that position, remaining players filled from previous weeks team. If a clash of position (eg; 1 fwd named) then the opponent gets to choose which player is used from previous week (ie; which of the two fwds is kept in this case).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***BUELLERS Rooling***
For, PERSISTENTLY NOT SUBMITTING A SCORE (July 2018):
• Should a team have the LATE/NO SCORES SUBMITTED ROOLING #2 invoked (or have NO SCORE SUBMITTED FOR THE WEEK AT ALL!) for a total of FOUR TIMES in a season then …
• THAT KOACH LOOSES (sic) ONE DRAFT POSITION AT THE END OF THE YEAR, and
• THEY ALSO incur a FURTHER ONE DRAFT POSITION FOR EVERY TIME THEREAFTER THEY INCUR A ROOLING #2 (Late score) OR #29 (Away team scoring) penalty &… their place in the comp will be in jeopardy
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
KOMMITTEE ROOLINGS PROCEDURE
The Presidium of the Central Kommittee of the FCFC Rooling Party (abbreviated as Политбюро ЦК КПСС, Presidiumatia TsK FCFCSS but more colloquially known as das KOMMITTEE) will initially convene, as required, a Special Meeting (“SM”) to discuss whether or not an Extra-Special Meeting (“ESM”) should be held to consider any matter deemed worthy of their time. A date will be set out for the SM by the Date Setting Kommittee (“DSK”) at their next sitting, which is typically said to be “sometime soonish” following the request – it should be pointed that the setting of these dates is usually unclear as the DSK needs to sit to convene a date for their own meeting. Following this, the SM will convene and, if deemed necessary, will be followed by the ESM and a rooling may or may not be made.
